ARTiculture Selects 8 Artists in Northeast Wisconsin for 2015

APPLETON, WI — ARTiculture, an Appleton-based community-supported arts initiative recently launched its first program offering a new model for financing local art. Eight community artists have been selected to participate in ARTiculture’s 2015 season.

Based on the popular agricultural CSA model, in which community members can support farms by paying to receive weekly shares of the farm’s harvest, ARTiculture’s CSArt model aims to support artists by offering a platform for community members to buy a “share” of local art.

Over the last three months, ARTiculture solicited submissions from artists throughout Wisconsin for funding to participate in the 2015 pilot program. A group of finalists was selected by a jury of Fox Cities art leaders, and over the past 3 weeks, community supporters voted online to select which 8 artists would receive funding for their work.

Last week, the online vote ended, and ARTiculture’s 2015 class of artists were selected. The 8 selected artists are:
▪ Chris Dorn
▪ Cori Lin
▪ Kayla Gerrits
▪ Chad Brady
▪ Mariana Russell
▪ Ali Fuller
▪ Melissa Siewart
▪ Sara Willadsen

The selected artists will create between 25 and 50 works for a group of 50 ARTiculture CSA shareholders. Each shareholder will receive 6 pieces in a packaged set available in November 2015 as well as a set of unique art experiences throughout Fall 2015.
